Ligaya is a London-trained Bermudian barrister and has developed a broad practice in dispute resolution, with her current practice focused on cross-border insurance arbitration. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).She holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters and is also a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals.Ligaya is admitted to the Bermuda Bar and the Bar of England & Wales.Before becoming a barrister, she served for nearly a decade as a biomedical scientist with various public and private healthcare institutions in Bermuda and abroad.
