As part of the Transformative Governance unit within the System Innovation & Policy department at AIT, I am continuing my research on the role of policy and governance in fostering the transition to sustainable systems.

I am currently working as a Post-doc at UMR LISIS in Paris. As part of a team of researchers originating from Gustave Eiffel Université to the Austrian Institute of Technology I study the emergence of Transformative Innovation Policy at the urban level. Investigating the rise of city-level innovation policies we aim to develop new frameworks to analyse cities' sustainability transitions and adequately reflecting the complexity with which urban systems transform. We aim to provide practitioners with an understanding of what role various stakeholders play in the process from municipal and other layers of government, to businesses, third sector organisations and not least citizens.

In my work as an Industrial PhD researcher I was partnered with Copenhagen Solutions Lab, an innovation office within the City of Copenhagen. Through my PhD I investigated Public Private Innovation Partnerships in the Smart City sector, in order to understand what outcomes these lead to. Drawing on the literature on governance conditions I tried to understand how Smart City projects scale up, identifying two unique paths. Using the concept of Public Value Creation, I additionally sought to understand outcomes from this angle identifying the barriers and drivers of Public Value in PPIs. Finally I developed the term Soft Public Value to capture the processes that lead to public value outcomes.

As a student I assist the full time employees with their various assignments. I assist in policy assessment and development as well as first hand project controlling of exciting initiatives such as Early Warning (http://startvaekst.dk/earlywarning.dk). Speech writing and administrative tasks involving the MS-Office package are also part of my job description.

As a visiting researcher at the Initiative on Cities I was based in Boston in the spring of 2019. During my stay I took advantage of the high-quality events in the Boston and Cambridge area and was able to capitalise on Initiative on Cities' great network with academics and practitioners in the Boston area.

As a stagiaire at Greenland's Representation in Brussels it was my job to assist the head of the Representation at meetings with the Commission, NGO's and business interests. I also participated in trilateral meetings between Greenland, Denmark and the EU as well as the Executive Committee meetings of the Overseas Countries and Territories Association (OCTA). Information gathering and notes and brief writings were also part of my tasks. In this job I gained key knowledge on European Institutions, International Relations and got to know the Government of Greenland from the core.

I updated and helped design websites, that are used as the main communication channel to the residents of this administrative housing company. In addition to that, I also help members of the respective boards, by teaching them how to use the websites for communicating with their residents.
