After interning with the editorial department at 303 Magazine, Laura switched her focus to graphic design and assisted the lead graphic designer with layout design and drafting cover options. During her internship she also updated and prepared documents for production, created printed promotional materials for the magazine and created digital promotional materials for online use.

At the end of her academic career at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Laura worked as a writer and editorial assistant for 303 Magazine. Responsibilities included: copyediting, fact checking, attending editorial staff meetings, collaborating with the editorial team and general administrative tasks.

As part of an academic internship program through the University of Colorado at Boulder, Laura worked as an editorial writer for American Cowboy Magazine. Other responsibilities included: copyediting, fact checking, photo research, planning and executing a photo shoot as well as general administrative tasks.After the end of her internship, Laura continued working as a freelance writer for American Cowboy Magazine through September 2011.
