Critical TechWorks operates at the cutting-edge of the BMW Group’s technologies. As part of an agile development team, the responsibility is to understand, prototype and test user interaction solutions, redesign and fine tune them, and help translate them into user stories and front-end specifications for development. This involves understanding customer and end-user needs and translating these into graphical user interfaces through high-fidelity mock-ups, journey maps, workflow diagrams and more.

Working part-time as a freelancer, offering prototyping and batch manufacturing services to startups and individuals, as well as training and workshops in CAD and digital fabrication tools. Completed a variety of projects ranging from film props to IoT devices, using digital and traditional fabrication techniques. Gave workshops for clients including Audi X-lab, Fab Lab Berlin, and Re:publica.

Working as part of the “Slingshot” team, Zalando’s internal accelerator for bottom-up innovation. Guiding and facilitating multi-disciplinary teams of intrapreneurs to pursue and validate their ideas through a user-centered process based on the GV Design Sprint, familiarising participants with techniques in Design Thinking, User Research and Prototyping.

Responsible for the day to day operations of the company’s internal Innovation Lab, as well as bringing Industrial Design and Digital Fabrication skills to a multi-disciplinary team. Involved in a number of R&D projects aimed at identifying and pursuing new technologies that may benefit the Zalando in the future.

Working as part of a small team responsible for product development and prototyping for various clients. Particular tasks include CAD modelling using Solidworks and Fusion 360, as well as prototyping using digital fabrication technologies. Recent projects include a number of digital designed prosthetics, created in collaboration with the well-established company Ottobock.
