Assistant Children'S Librarian
CurrentMy job description involves cataloging and processing all types of materials, being the assistant librarian for program planning for children, teens, and adults, and implementing new ideas for the promotion of reading and creativity, for example, allowing teens access to mathematical and reading assessment practices when they access computers and conducting story time for young children.Additional tasks include the following: shelving, working at circulation desk, inventory, community outreach story time, Fun Film Friday supervisor and coordinator, Coffee and Conversation (monthly morning meetings with senior citizens of the community for historical conversations, breakfast, games, and prizes), seasonal/holiday decorations for Children's Department, supervising volunteer workers, inter-library loaning, email the librarian operator, and teen book club coordinator.
