Senior level financial aid advisor responsible for counseling and providing financial aid information to current and prospective students. Provide loan and indebtedness counseling to students on an individual or group basis. Assists with review, revision, and interpretation of complex rules, regulations, procedures and policies relating to financial aid. Uses discretion to respond to varied questions that may require researching and consolidating data regarding financial aid, scholarships, and specialized programs.Uses independent judgement to provide support to colleges and departments as needed. Reviews Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals and make decisions regarding the validity of the appeals. Assists in developing and presenting training seminars on pertinent topics and procedures within team area of expertise; conducts seminars and presentations to include classroom and/or professional level for profession and others. Chairs the scholarship committee and manage the process of notifying students of scholarships, accept and process applications, oversee selection process, notify recipients; serve on Student Awards Committee. Facilitate student events to engage with students and foster rapport.Serves as a VA Certifying Official and assist with any Veteran and Hazelwood questions and concerns. Coordinates with Military Education Benefits team to ensure compliance in benefit processing and consistency in policies and procedures. Assist with student affairs and participate in awarding ceremonies and orientation. Attend local, state, and national workshops and conferences. Travel as needed.

Responsible for general financial aid customer service by answering calls, emails, chats, and otherinquiries. Process online forms and conduct quality assurance of reported and submitted information.Answer questions related to Financial Aid daily for approximately 90 calls inbound/outbound calls –this includes responding to and resolving all issues related to financial aid.
