I am a second-year Commerce Co-op student at Dalhousie University, aspiring to major in finance and minor in mathematics. My academic journey along with my recent participation in completing the auditing and assurance KPMG Program has equipped me with a strong grasp of financial and accounting concepts and practices, along with proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel. Additionally, my work experience as a cashier and a store clerk at Lawtons Drugs has honed my skills in attention to detail and effective communication. Now that I work with Dalhousie University's community safety team as a CST (Community Safety Team), I have developed the team collaboration skills necessary to deal with significant occurrences as well as the problem-solving abilities necessary to resolve any disputes that may emerge in residence in an effective manner.My academic background as a commerce student with a special interest in mathematics as well as my work experience have instilled in me a desire for fresh challenges and continuous learning. I have a proven track record ranging from taking part in club activities related to commerce and maths in high school to gaining experience from taking part in various societies at Dalhousie University such as the Dalhousie Quantitative Financing Society, Dalhousie Commerce Society, and Dalhousie Accounting Society to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines more effectively. Along with improving my proficiency in Microsoft Excel and making me proficient in PowerPoint presentations, this helped me develop my mathematics and financial skills. I am enthusiastic about applying my skills and passion in a finance-related co-op position, where I can collaborate with seasoned professionals to handle both routine and ad-hoc financing responsibilities.
