Tervita Corporation acquired Main Line Industries Ltd. on December 14, 2020.Main Line Industries was a privately owned corporation with over 30 years in the heavy construction industry, specializing in trenchless services, rail services, and hauling heavy equipment and aggregate material.Complete full-cycle accounting for the Main Line Group of Companies; including reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll, day-to-day reporting, month-end and year-end procedures, liasing with external accountants, tax remittances, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes. This position reported directly to the President and Vice President, oversaw the Accounts Payable Clerk and Accounts Receivable Clerk, and included an office management component.• Prepared year-end and month-end working papers and financial statements, in accordance with ASPE• Monitored cash flows• Prepared reconciliations, continuity schedules, and journal entries for: bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, amortization, financing and equipment loans, payroll accounts, accrued liabilities, related party transactions, etc.• Maintaining external financing and liaising with lenders• Monitoring and analyzing receivable and payable accounts• Providing leadership to the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions and processes• Processing payroll and employee benefits for 45 employees• Transitioned the organization to a third-party payroll service organization• Prepared monthly GST and PST remittances. Serving as an extension of United Way campaign staff, Sponsored Executives provide direction and support to annual campaign volunteers in workplaces throughout the city. They work full-time with United Way of Winnipeg for a fourteen week period.
