The Emergency Assistance Program provides financial and material support on behalf of customers in crisis situations, including homelessness prevention, home furnishings, and critical transportation needs. The Emergency Assistance department includes The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) which helps households prevent energy service disruptions, restore disconnected services, and/or secure seasonal heating and cooling energy needs. In this role, I am responsible for the oversight, operations, and budget of this department. The Emergency Assistance Department staffs between 20-25 full and part time staff, has approximately a 2 Million dollars allocated on an annual basis and serve over 15,000 customers annually.

Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and presenting reports, facts, and statistics relevant to developing policies for effective resource utilization, fundraising and development. Work involves the application of research principles in various phases of multi-faceted projects coordinated by a superior, or in a generally single functional area to provide a basis for planning programs. Conducts studies addressing the acquisition of or the development of new knowledge information systems to meet current and projected needs. Responsible for providing details, results and outcomes of the research of programs and community needs.

Interface and conduct outreach with County workers and community groups to secure locations to host classes and recruit students/clients for program. Maintain Financial Literacy Network partnerships and collaborations. Work with Communications manager to maintain current information on agency's website.Become familiar with Financial Literacy Best Practices. Assist with developing requirements to web content management consultants.Operate within program budget. Maintain records and oversee entry of program client statistics into the database. Attend and participate in regular staff meetings and planning meetings. Provide monthly Board Reports on respective programs and responsibilities. Participate in community meetings and committees as assigned.
