Dynamic educator and problem-solver Latissha Clark has worn many hats over her accomplished career - from top athlete and collegiate researcher to mentor, mother of 8, and pioneering teacher. In High School, Latissha found early success as a two-sport Letter winner in both track and golf. She carried this competitive spirit to Texas Southern University, where she earned academic and athletic scholarships in bowling and golf. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for transportation research through an internship at the Air Force Research Lab. This pivotal experience set Latissha on her current trajectory. She went on to earn graduate degrees in Transportation Planning & Management, focusing on Homeland Security research from Texas Southern University. Throughout her studies, Latissha applied her analytical skills to diverse "think outside the box" research projects involving GIS mapping, program coding, and homeland security initiatives. Her groundbreaking work led to a patented Hazardous Materials Incident Location System(HIMS) and multiple leadership roles coordinating transportation security efforts.Motivated to share her knowledge, Latissha embarked on an adjacent career in education. For over a decade, she has taught as an adjunct professor at Houston Community College and, more recently, transitioned to the high school level. At the trilingual International Leadership of Texas Windmill Lakes-Orem High School, she currently inspires the next generation of leadership through classes such as; AP Human Geography, World History, and currently the Engineering/Robotics instructor.When she's not shaping young minds, Latissha dedicates her time to community service. She has fostered over 20 children and continues to mentor students one-on-one. She has a baseball team of kids she loves dearly and calls her family.
