Second designer, but first design individual contributor, hired to help define the user experience for this big data and financial tech startup. As a key contributor to multiple shipped products, I solved challenging data visualization and user workflow issues while collaborating with engineers, data scientists, customer engagement managers, and product managers.

∙ Oversaw the redesign and user experience of both a crash analytics and continuous integration internal tool from completion until launch. Researched, strategized and performed user testing to provide highly functional and engaging experiences for Facebook engineers.∙ Led UX design on the two-factor authentication mobile application used by all Facebook employees in order to provide a more intuitive navigation.∙ Collaborated with designers to provide high quality and consistent user experience among various internal tools.

∙ Performed user research activities, studied UI patterns, and conducted competitive analyses in order to design solutions which support business, technology, and user needs.∙ Produced wireframes and pixel-perfect mockups for the next generation of FileMaker mobile, web, and desktop products designed to increase conversion from free trial to full license.∙ Presented usability test analysis and design artifacts to fellow designers, product managers, and engineers.∙ Developed the high fidelity prototype for FileMaker’s newest product design release using Justinmind. Created complicated interactions including parallax, drag and drop, and responsive design.

∙ Designed user interactions, developed visual designs, and produced prototypes for Medyear, a startup whose mobile app securely allows users to gather, store and share their medical records.

• Designed hardware for a custom-computing environment for the US Navy. Developed wiring schematics and board layout, and managed the Bill of Materials, and consulted clients on manufacturing processes.• Wrote the Design Specification, Requirements Verification Matrix, and Test & Evaluation documentation for a US Navy submarine communications system. • Executed hazard, system safety, and human-machine interaction analysis for the US Navy Littoral Combat System.

• Performed testing and evaluation of requirements for Network Operations (NetOps) capabilities of the Army LandWarNet NetOps Architecture. Developed proficiency in the operation of Computer Associates (CA) eHealth, CA Spectrum, and ArcSight network and system monitoring tools.

• Transformed the DISA NetOps Readiness Review Process by aligning the process with the industry standard frameworks such as the Information Technology Information Library (ITIL). • Led the DISA Enterprise Email program through the approval of their operations plans to implement an enterprise-wide email service to the entire Department of Defense.• Spearheaded development and implementation of the client’s IA Strategy, outlining objectives for deliverables, staffing needs, and schedules for planned tasks over the next two years.• Reviewed and edited the Request for Proposals and evaluated submitted proposals for multi-billion dollar contracts during the source selection process of the TSAT Space and Programmable Objective Encryption Technologies Programs.

• Developed and implemented test strategy for measuring performance impact of using Internet Protocol Security on virtual private networks to evaluate the effect on routing convergence times and CPU and routing engine memory utilizations.
