About Steven Latré
De drijvende kracht achter Insima bv is Steven Latré. Geboren in 1988 op het West-Vlaamse platteland als jongste van twee in een landbouwersgezin. Heel vroeg kwam hij dus al in contact met tractoren en landbouwwerktuigen. Daar werd wellicht zijn interesse voor machines en mechanica gewekt, zijn passie voor engineering geboren en werd de basis gelegd voor zijn latere keuzes. In 2006 vat Steven zijn studies master industriële ingenieurswetenschappen aan in het KHBO op de Zeedijk in Oostende. In 2010 studeert hij er magna cum laude af. Hij start zijn carrière bij Ardo (toen nog Unifrost) in Koolskamp als automation engineer, vervolgens betrekt hij een gelijkaardige functie bij Latré Foodmachinery nv in Diksmuide. Ondertussen zit hij ook privé niet stil. Eind 2012 trouwt hij met Katia. In mei 2013 volgt een dochter Louise. In september 2014 wordt ook de jongste van het gezin verwelkomd, Juliette. In 2016 start Steven als doctoraatsstudent binnen KU Leuven Campus Brugge bij het departement materiaalkunde en haalt hij in 2020 de titel “Doctor in de industriële ingenieurswetenschappen” met zijn doctoraat “Multischaal thermisch en mechanisch modelleren van isolatiecomposieten”. Na het behalen van zijn doctorstitel blijft Steven er nog enkele jaren werken als postdoctoraal onderzoeker. Waardevolle en leerrijke jaren op vele vlakken. Hij doet er ervaring op in uiteenlopende takken van de ingenieurswetenschappen.En dan begint het te kriebelen… Na wikken en wegen, pro’s en contra’s te overzien, zet in hij uiteindelijk de stap naar het ondernemerschap. Op 1 Januari 2023 ziet Insima bv het levenslicht. Steven: “Ik wil met Insima de brug slaan tussen de industrie met zijn specifieke technische uitdagingen en de theorie ondersteund door CAE simulaties, analytische berekeningen en tailormade scripting.” Ben je nieuwsgierig naar Steven?
