I am inherently a helper. When I was younger my parents would tell me "look for the helpers". I immediately decided that I wanted to be the helper people looked for. I have always had a love to help people in any way I can. I've spent the majority of my working career in the Customer Service field. The bulk of my time working in Consumer Relations where I worked with escalated cases that required one to be very resourceful and have extensive problem solving skills. Being able to adapt to new processes and pick up and implement new skills easily fed into my helper tendencies. I was often lent out to various departments within the company to help get backlogged work caught up, assist with training and implementing new procedures, and any other tasks needed. These skills transferred to my current role as a Community School Outreach Coordinator, working with families to remove barriers that are keeping students from being successful in the classroom. This also takes extensive problem solving skills, and an ability to locate and utilize resources.
