How can we create places that make people happier and healthier?As a registered Architect (ARB) and WELL Accredited Professional, I’m fascinated by the connection between wellbeing and the built environment. I believe that design has the power to not only support mental and physical health but to lift the spirit and strengthen community.Working with the Rural Studio, U.S.A., early in my career formed my interest in environmentally and socially-conscious design. I spent time on the construction team, working on projects from within the community, alongside the end-users of the buildings we created.More recently, my career has taken me across the globe to work in the UK, Australia and New Zealand on a range of architectural projects with Grimshaw, a practice committed to a regenerative future for both people and planet. A particular career highlight is the completion of ‘Olderfleet’, a new WELL Platinum Certified 40-storey workplace tower that is respectfully integrated with significant heritage fabric. More recently, I have been leading the design team for Aotea Station as part of City Rail Link, the largest infrastructure project ever in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
