Chris Laughton has been a heating engineer, author and lecturer in the solar thermal, PV and heat pumps industries. He is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (FCIPHE) and previous Chair of the IDHEE Renewable Group, as well as previous Chair of the National Standards Committee (BSI) for Solar Heating and previous leader of the Centre for Alternative Technology’s Graduate School of the Environment solar and wood-heating course. He was a regular columnist in Green Building magazine and produces specialist editorials for publications such as PHAM, Electrical Times, Energy in Buildings & Industry, Renewable Energy World and Sun&Wind. He is also the lead author of Solar Domestic Water Heating for international publishers Earthscan and has been engaged as speaker at many international conferences.Specialties: An expert in the software simulation program PV*SOL, renewable heating system design.
