Laura Barwick Email and Phone Number
Having studied Zoology and photography I have worked in natural history photography for 20 years now - from picture research on books, magazines up to international release movies; working with brand development with BBC NHU; editorial and advertising clients around the world and with several professional photographers editing their collections, creating complete story sets for publication and promoting book releases. I research, edit, deliver and - hopefully above all - inspire.

Freelance Picture EditorSelf-Employed 2005 - PresentBristol, England, United KingdomIt's all about series deliverables the last 12 months and ongoing - first up was Planet Earth 3 end of 2023...then straight on to Mammals (tx Spring 2024)...then off to Asia (tx Autumn 2024)...and now a hop, skip and jump over the water to The Americas (tx 2025). With each series I get to watch all the episodes ahead of transmission - then have the challenge to find the very best stills/screengrabs to best promote both ahead and around it's launch, sometimes just in the UK, often around the world. It's a job I never take lightly and each time I am blown away by footage I never dreamt I'd see - sometimes the hardest part is sitting on that knowledge until everyone else gets to watch on their tv and have their own moments of awe! 2024 - COUNTRYFILE: A Year in the Countryside - for Harper Collins (John Craven and Fergus Collins) due out 11 April2022/3 - WILD ISLES (Silverback for BBC1, book by Collins, author Patrick Barkham) - like a Planet Earth for the UK - we have incredible wildlife and I'm so fortunate to get to work on a series we all desperately need in these wobbly times. Came out in March 2023 2022/23 - MAVA FOUNDATION - working with TOUCHLINE, on a celebration book a book about MAVA Foundation, a Swiss conservation foundation, founded by the visionary conservationist Luc Hoffmann, and funded projects all over the world, making an enormous contribution to people and nature. A real privilege to work on this legacy book.April 2019 - OUR PLANET (Bantam Press)- an exciting and ambitious collaboration between Silverback Films, Netflix and WWF.

AmbassadorBarefoot Books Sep 2014 - Apr 2015Axbridge And OnlineBy promoting and selling Barefoot Books I hoped to inspire people of all ages to make room for books in their lives, especially promoting a love of books and reading in children. Alas the company has just ceased selling in the UK so I can no longer be an Ambassador - but I would still promote their titles as some of the best children's books out there and I know they will continue to expand in USA.
