I have worked in the social care sector for the majority of my career and have largely been in customer facing roles, managing often, complex and sensitive matters both in person and remotely. I was promoted to the Project Manager role following on from a successful secondment. This was a role that suited my skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm. Within this role l designed and implemented new and refined services and driven resisted change within the organisation. This role has helped develop my interpersonal skills and given me valuable experience in management of resisted change within a non-commercial organisation. Prior to this I was a Shared Lives Coordinator. The SLC role meant that I managed a team and needed to have an overview of a wide range of complex health and social care matters including housing matters, benefits and safeguarding of vulnerable adults. I am experienced in client facing roles including managing placements of adults with complex needs into existing family homes. A very challenging and rewarding role. After twelve years in previous role I secured a new role in a whole new sector. This was an extremely challenging and daunting prospect but being able to bring my wide ranging hands-on Health and Social care experience into a Housing Charity has been extremely rewarding.I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strongly believe that communication is fundamental to success of any project or job role. I am confident to liaise with key stakeholders such as professionals (GP's, social workers etc) as well as members of the public and family members.I am also a qualified dental nurse and have worked supporting people who had life limiting conditions. All these roles required me to have a high level of IT skills, excellent communication skills, routine use of databases and a willingness to keep updating my skills.
