I strive to leave people and places better than when I met them. As the City of Waupaca Parks and Rec Director, Speaker, and Consultant, my aim is to serve those around me with a wave of benevolence and optimism.I am a passionate and dedicated civil servant with a diverse background, which includes School Principal, Dean of Students, Adventure Education Teacher, Combat Veteran, Activities Director for a non-profit assisting individuals with special needs, and a Public Speaker. I have spoken internationally for secondary schools in England, for various organizations including higher education, Rotary, Kiwanis, and Lions club, to name a few. I have led community building activities of teams over 200 and as little as five. I am a published author, having written about my combat experience as a Military Police Officer in Baghdad, Iraq. All of these experiences made me an expert in the importance of buy-in, belonging, and collaboration. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my supportive husband and three wonderful children.I can't wait to work with you!Laura
