Lead a team of Modellers, Data Scientists and Economists to deliver model assurance across the entire Financial Audit portfolio of the Office, to validate government spending underpinned by over 60 business critical models. Identify opportunities to deploy our modelling capabilities to support high quality, evidence based, impactful work across all of our analytical outputs and collaborate with service line teams to realise these opportunities.

Deliver model assurance for the Office’s most risky audits, to include DfE’s Student Loans model pipeline and HMRC’s Oil and Gas Decommissioning model. Examine a range of models that use forecasting techniques to include Machine Learning, Regression and Expected Credit Loss methodologies.

Formed the North East’s regional branch of the OR Socety. Organised bi-annual in person conferences (on line during the pandemic) to showcase analysis in the region and provide networking opportunities for analysts across all sectors. Ran a mentoring scheme for analysts of all grades to promote collaborative approaches to problem solving and encourage professional development.

Joined the award winning Civil Service graduate training programme, which develops talented, high- potential individuals into future leaders. Held roles leading the production and development of statisti- cal publications at DWP as well as in operational analysis in HMRC.

Created numerical models to simulate the Sun’s magnetic activity. Modulated the solar dynamo through modelling poloidal field regeneration from competing alpha effects (namely a time delayed Babcock-Leighton surface alpha effect and an interface type alpha effect).Paper here:https://arxiv.org/abs/1403.6604
