Laura Crippa is PhD Assistant at the Institute of Italian Studies of the University of Lugano. In 2022 she was Visiting Research Fellow at the Sydney University thanks to a mobility grant offered by the Research and Transfer Service of the University of Lugano.She earned her bachelor's degree in Italian Literature and Philology in Milan (Faculty of Arts and Philosophy of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), and her master's degree in Italian Language, Culture and Civilization in Lugano. She aerned the "Alma Bacciarini Prize" for best graded master's degree. Thanks to her master's thesis focused on Pascoli's anthologies (supervisors: Carlo Ossola and Emilio Manzotti), she won the "Giovanni Pascoli Prize" called by the Accademia Pascoliana of San Mauro Pascoli and in 2020 she became a Corresponding Member of the Accademia Pascoliana.From 2018 to the present she has been Assistant Lecturer at the USI courses of Modern Poetry, Italian Literature of 18th and 19th century, Italian Literature of 19th and 20th century, Contemporary Literature, History of Italian Language, Literature and Textbooks.Her research areas include Italian poetry of 19th and 20th century, focusing on Giovanni Pascoli's work.Laura Crippa's PhD research focuses on the relationship between Giovanni Pascoli and Primitivism in the late nineteenth century. The first section aims to offer an overall cultural and historical view of the scientific, linguistic, etnographic and anthropological theories which may have influenced the author. The second section investigates from a linguistic perspective Giovanni Pascoli's way of creating poems, looking for patterns that can be attributed to a primitive inspiration.
