CurrentThe Linda W. Daniel Foundation (LWDF) was founded on the belief that the end of cancer begins with prevention. We help people utilize what we already know and help bring the fight to cancer. LWDF is registered as a nonprofit in the state of Ohio and is a 501(c)(3) under federal tax guidelines (EIN 46- 2865291). As of January 2017 LWDF has helped raise over $60,000 to support leading cancer hospitals. The Foundation is led by Kyle & Laura Daniel with support from family and friends. Kyle & Laura live in Greenwich, Connecticut with their two children.LWDF was created to remember and honor Linda Daniel who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1995 and lost her fight in 2000. Linda served as an athletic trainer at The Ohio State University from 1975 until her untimely death. Mission - Challenge the athlete in you to fight cancer today. Each year, one-third of all cancer deaths in the United States are linked to poor diet, physical inactivity, and carrying too much weight. Who better to answer this challenge than the athlete in you? We don’t want people to donate money once a year and watch from the sidelines. We want people to ACT – Accept the Challenge Today, and help us bring the fight to cancer.Guiding PrinciplesAnyone can develop cancer. We started this journey because cancer came into our homes and took away the ones we love. We are not alone. We understand a commitment to prevention won’t guarantee a life without cancer, but know every step we take is a step in the right direction.1. The fight against cancer begins with a heartbeat, not a diagnosis.2. The end of cancer begins with prevention.3. Every day is an opportunity.
