As a member of the Siding business's senior management team, provide strategic counsel to the vice president, general manager, senior business leaders, department managers, and front line personnel on a wide variety of commercial and corporate legal matters related to all aspects of the business including U.S. and Canadian operations, marketing, sales, HR, mergers and acquisitions, and enterprise risk management. Lead and develop a team of legal professionals supporting the Siding business.Lead company-wide litigation team managing global litigation ranging from contracts to product liability, class actions to intellectual property disputes; advise senior leadership on legal strategy and tactics, determining which cases should be tried and which settled. Advise, collaborate, and prepare internal clients on litigation and risk management. Manage outside counsel in multiple counties, collaborating with them to implement cost-effective litigation strategy. Lead company-wide corporate compliance team supporting corporate activities. Responsible for directing and managing corporate compliance programs, including policy development and implementation, addressing FCPA, anti-bribery, code of conduct, conflicts, and GDPR privacy requirements. Ensure the right policies are in place to maintain compliance, train employees on adherence to compliance policies, and conduct internal investigations as needed. Work closely with the Chair, CEO and the Corporate Secretary in the planning for the board of directors and committee meetings.
