My role was to deliver community fundraising initiatives with individuals and groups across London, Surrey and parts of Essex and Kent. This involved:• Managing an income stream in excess of £750,000 • Recruiting, inducting, training/coaching, retaining and rewarding volunteers• Developing and maintaining sustainable relationships with all stakeholders in their communities, from corporate relationships to educating community groups.• Implementing fundraising plans for identified RNLI fundraising volunteers. Ensuring all strategic messages are delivered to volunteers effectively. Supporting them to maximise fundraising revenue, generate opportunities and engage with national campaigns• Work alongside the Thames Lifeboat Stations to build awareness of the service they provide as well as deliver key safety messages

Southwark, London

As part of the Community Support Team in London my role involves managing 15 fundraising branches that require reenergising and providing first class support to a further 30 more active branches all in the London and Surrey Region. Through regular communication I deliver advice, organisational messages and motivate volunteers encouraging them to achieve agreed fundraising targets. I maintain accurate and up to date records on the Customer Relationship Management system. I work closely with the Community Fundraising Managers to ensure supporters receive the highest standard of service.I also support third party fundraisers for which the team has an annual target of £350,000. I manage 250 volunteer presenters booking and recording talks about the RNLI. On a wider scale I work with teams in Poole, Perth and Dublin maintaining relationships with volunteers across the country.

I was given all kinds of roles during my time with this small family run business, from online marketing, to customer service. I have produced the newsletters and flyers for both individual consumers and our wholesale customers. Selling personalised clothing online, means that communication was through social networking, email and telephone. I was responsible for maintaining stock levels and liaising with suppliers. This gave me great insight into how a small business can operate from a remote site and be wide reaching.

Royal Geographical Society, London

Worked in fundraising for the British Schools Exploring Society, a youth development and education charity.Based at the Royal Geographical Society and founded by a member of Scott's 1911 Antarctic expedition team, BSES aims to develop the leadership, communication and confidence of its young explorers, through adventurous expeditions in remote wilderness environments. My main duties included office admin, trust research, liaising with potential participants and their parents. I also did presentations for recruitment purposes at schools and provided continuous support for those signed up expeditions. Assisted in the organisation of the Annual Gathering, a post expedition event for all donors and participants.Joining the BSES Amazon Expedition leader team as a ‘fire’ leader required a high levels of responsibility and organisation. I was also the Duke of Edinburgh assessor for the expedition.
