I am a biochemist specialised in neuroscience, with a focus on neurodegenerative disorders. My name is Laura Fort Aznar and I have a strong academic background and extensive experience in research and teaching.I earned my Ph.D. in Biology at the University of York, focusing on Frontotemporal Dementia and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis using Drosophila melanogaster as the model organism. This experience provided me with a solid foundation in conducting innovative research at a personal and professional level. Furthermore, I developed a deep understanding of the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases.Following my Ph.D., I served as an Associate Lecturer, teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in scientific courses. This role allowed me to combine my passion for research with a dedication to educating the next generations.Currently, I am undertaking the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship as a Postdoctoral Researcher. This fellowship is providing me with invaluable opportunities to collaborate with leading experts in the field and broaden my knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease and Frontotemporal Dementia.
