Chilcapamba, Ecuador

I worked with the indigenous community association in Chilcapamba, assisting with a concept paper and preliminary grant writing for a watershed initiative.

I coordinated an inaugural national fundraising challenge, MicroMax. Designed to give young leaders aged 18-35 a chance to test their entrepreneurial skills and raise funds for microfinance work in Colombia. I also co-chaired the Young Ambassadors for Opportunity committee in Toronto which took on event coordination and awareness building activities.

I designed, delivered and evaluated non formal education programming for children. My role included supervising 25 seasonal and part-time staff who worked at sleepovers, birthday parties, summer camp and various youth programming. In addition to hiring and training staff, I managed a budget of $400,000 and was responsible for expanding the programming roster and increasing delivery by 60-212%.

I was a capacity building intern with the NGO Resource Centre in Zanzibar. My role involved working with community organizations, delivering workshops on fundraising, strategic planning and event coordination. I also prepared and updated training manuals and communication materials for the resource centre and affiliates.

I worked in Torreon, Coahuila as an early childhood educator with children aged 3-6. Planning, delivering and evaluating lessons was part of my job as well as tutoring upper elementary students. I also volunteered as an English instructor for my Mexican colleagues.
