My role as a Team Member covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities within the business. Largely, I work FOH, representing the company at our VIP desk where I am in charge of greeting customers, organise seating plans, and issuing tickets. I efficiently serve and rotate food in our buffet section whilst also completing essential paperwork to ensure food safety and hygiene standards. Due to previous bar training I also dispense alcohol from the bar as part of an excellent customer experience. Behind the scenes I oversee that ensuring all recyclable waste is in the correct disposing facility and driving sales of recyclable items.

My role as an Event Steward involves working in environments of potential hostility and conflict, such as, football stadiums and arenas, to enhance my hazard perception skills. As well as providing excellent customer service my duty is to protect the customers from a health and safety perspective. This can be expressed through reporting any suspicious behaviour or items, advising against dangerous practises and some security checks. Where possible I undertook additional training to further develop my skills and explore roles with more responsibility.

Effective communication with staff and customers is essential for the upkeep of the bar and taking orders in a fast-paced environment. Staying calm during busy periods is important to remain professional and remember complex orders from large groups. I stick to strict policies such as Challenge 25 and report any issues through the relevant paperwork.

As part of my duty as a Security Steward, I acted as the face of the company, offering exceptional customer service to event attendees to give the best experience possible. The role also involved resolving hostile situations in a calm and co-ordinated manner as well as critical attention to detail, time keeping and organisation. As well as instructing classes, I had the opportunity to take on administrative tasks at the front desk.
