As a Senior Manager in the Transaction Services team I was responsible for managing small project teams on financial due diligence assignments. A major part of my role was to co-ordinate and undertake detailed analysis on historical and forecast financial data and communicate key findings via written reports/presentations. My role required me to work closely with (often acting as the main PwC contact) clients, funding providers and other advisers and quickly build strong relationships with all stakeholders involved in the transaction. My most recent transactions (all Australia based transactions) included:• Buyside financial due diligence for Pacific Equity Partners on the Public to Private acquisition of Spotless (a specialist facilities management business) • Investigating Accountant for the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Alliance Aviation (a fly in fly out airline operator and charter airline business)• Financial due diligence for Council of Mayors South East Queensland in relation to the institutional restructure of the regional water industry • Investigating Accountant for the IPO of ERM Power (an energy retailer, energy generation and gas exploration company)

As the Bid Team Accountant my main role was to monitor the key performance indicators for the business’ operational PFI projects (mainly hospitals and schools), using them to build a portfolio of operational KPIs for use in future PFI bids and as a basis for the assumptions used in the financial modelling process. I was required to have a good understanding of the main cost drivers of the bid and the impact of cost sensitivities. I was also responsible for controlling the costs of the bid team itself including setting annual budgets and providing on-going budget variance analysis.

As part of the Tait Walker Corporate Finance Team I was required to assist in the provision of a full range of advisory services (e.g. fund raising, MBOs, acquisitions and disposals) for local SMEs. I gained exposure to a wide range of local owner managed businesses, local funding providers and private equity houses and other local advisors involved in business transactions.
