An executive management appointed group created to serve as liaison between FATIC Claims Service Division and large lender customers to address claims and market concerns. Identified problematic claims trends and implemented processes to address overwhelming volumes due to the national financial and economic crisis in the housing and real estate market. Improved communications and integrated systems between FATIC, national lenders and retained counsel to facilitate flow of work through the foreclosure and claims processes while concentrating on the customer relationship. Procured new business for FATIC through national agency agreements with one of the country's largest loan servicers.

In-house corporate legal counsel for a major national insurance underwriter. Assembled a team of targeted hires of attorneys licensed in jurisdictions within the Claims Center coverage area to represent the Company and/or its insureds in legal matters related to claims. Developed process implemented nationwide for centralizing processing and handling of company's claims. Facilitated consolidation of claims centers from over 50 offices to 5 major claims centers. Managed overall claims operations for the Southeast Claims Center. Served as spokesperson and key contact for Claims Center with California based corporate offices. Responsible for all hiring, training and management of personnel and assignment of case loads to approximately 40 employees handling an average of 10,000 cases. Provided advice, counsel and authority on case strategy, resolution and coverage decisions. Approved reserves and retention of outside counsel, and reviewed/approved invoices for costs and attorneys' fees. Served as corporate representative and counsel in mediations and court proceedings. Managed overall recoupment process for Center. Identified and designated functions appropriate for automation and international outsourcing to achieve efficiencies. Responsible for setting and managing multi-million dollar budget, establishing Disaster Recovery Plan and Business Continuity Plan. Remained responsible for primary functions above within the SE office upon consolidation of SE in the Eastern Claims Center in 2010.

In-house corporate counsel advising on all aspects of residential and commercial land sales, acquisitions and development. Developed and implemented land sale closing process company-wide and managed outside counsel retained to represent St. Joe in transactions and litigation matters. Represented St. Joe in local governmental affairs affecting land sales and development before county and municipal entities in North Florida. Managed and provided representation to St. Joe in conservation sales to private and public entities. Negotiated and prepared construction contracts and professional service agreement for sales and development projects; prepared requests for proposals and reviewed resulting bid packages.

Practiced in the areas of real property transactions and litigation, land use law, family law, general civil law, wills, estates and probate. Also a former Circuit Civil Certified Mediator. Managed the firm’s real estate department, handling residential and commercial transactions, including issuance of title insurance.

Acted as Assistant County Attorney for an attorney who was on extended family leave. Provided professional legal services to county offices, divisions, and departments and to the Board of County Commissioners. Drafted proposed local legislation, legal documents and opinions. Represented county in hearings and litigation.
