As the head of the English as an Additional Language department at BVIS, I managed a team of 4 other languages specialist teachers and supported language development in a primary bilingual school of about 500 students. Annually, I led 3 whole school teacher training courses, supported induction of new staff and delivered a 16-hour accredited Nord Anglia University course to classroom teachers that helped develop language learning strategies and build them into our bespoke curriculum.

-Managing a group of 15-20 teachers and overseeing their professional development and well-being. -Conducting formal observations of all levels to ensure academic standards are met.-Designing and implementing development plans with teachers of varying experience levels whilst tracking their progress over the long term.-Leading annual Professional Development Interviews, PD Action Plans, Performance Appraisal Reviews and exit-interviews. -In charge of inducting and training teachers for placement testing, IELTS, Corporate, Public Schools and our Adult Program.-Dealing with customer complaints and teacher discipline. -Delivering seminars and demo classes to potential customers.-Providing training to ELT staff.-Working part time with the Product Development team, Sales team. schedulers, and Marketing team.-Interviewing and training new teachers.-Teaching 15 hours per week

In addition to teaching an average of 20 hours a week to students ages 4 to adult of varying levels, I also contribute to the Academic Team of the largest ILA centers in Vietnam. My duties include:-Design and present professional development workshops to teachers and local staff.-Organize fundraising and social events for foreign and local staff.-Work with different departments to supply resources used in our classrooms.-Assist Academic Managers with long term professional development plans for teachers. -Placement testing students into appropriate levels.-Induct new teachers and manage induction schedules for tasks and peer observations.-Work to ensure teacher satisfaction within our center, for example leading teacher meetings and passing on feedback to management. -General administration. -Co-planning with teachers of varying experience levels to help them deliver student-centered lessons to all ages and abilities. -Shadowing observations to become standardized.
