  • Arup
    Lead Delivery Architect
    Arup Jan 2006 - Feb 2008
    St Pancras Thameslink Station
Recruited and led a team of architects, engineers and package managers to deliver the St Pancras Thameslink Station. Rail Link Engineering was acting as Principal Contractor for this project. This was the first new station for Thameslink which forms the subterranean part of the St Pancras International complex. The role involved the initial setting up of the subcontract packages, followed by leading and co-ordinating the work of the package managers. The design was also developed with the contractors with an emphasis on buildability and good MEP co-ordination. I also led discussions and co-ordination of LFEPA and DPTAC to achieve statutory sign off. This was a sub surface station which was constructed with the constraint of an active railway under a tight timescale.
  • Arup
    Delivery Architect And Package Manager
    Arup Mar 2004 - Dec 2005
    Stratford And Ebbsfleet Stations
The delivery for the two new CTRL stations was also managed by RLE as Principal Contractor. My role was the management of the delivery of the architectural and services design and the co-ordination of the designs delivered by the sub-contractors. This was linked to the responsibility for the co-ordination of the multi-disciplined sub-contractors designs on site. I was also responsible for the delivery of statutory permissions for the stations. The stations both had strong public and political attention during the run-up to Olympic bid and the successful delivery of Stratford was a catalyst for the winning of the London Olympics.
  • Arup
    Project Architect
    Arup Dec 1999 - Mar 2004
    St Pancras International Station
I led the design for the development of the restoration and alterations to the existing Barlow Trainshed and the rebuilding of the West Side of the station. The West Side is a Victorian Gothic outer face which ties into the existing building but with a steelwork frame and modern interior housing station plant rooms. These works involved dealing with the complexities of working with the existing Grade 1 listed building. The West Side elevation won the BDA Brick Award for 2006. I was also project architect for the German Gymnasium works. My involvement in restoration works led me to develop my skills in the area of building conservation completing the Architectural Schools renown Building Conservation Diploma Course. I was also responsible for the architectural co-ordination with project (St Pancras Hotel, LU station works and Thameslink station) adjoining our works.
