In July 2024 I accepted the role of Head of ALB Partnerships and Assurance which became a permanent promotion in October 2024. Very excited to be heading up a team working with our Arms Length Bodies at such a time of growth and transition. I have since been asked to take on responsibility for corporate governance which is always a pleasure and an area I am particularly passionate about. In April 2019 I joined the Department of Education as System Risk and Governance Manager with responsibility for Arms Length Body (ALB) and Sponsor Team risk and corporate governance projects. Some of these have included leading on the establishment of the Future DfE Governance arrangements and a separate diversity in governance project. In January 2017 I was appointed to the role of Associate Director Corporate Governance and Organisational Effectiveness at NHS STOCKPORT Clinical Commissioning Group. It subsumed my role of Board Secretary and Head of Governance and expanded my areas of responsibility to include communications and engagement, organisational development and effectiveness, Equality and Diversity and HR. I also became licensed to teach Zumba in January 2017 after engaging in the Actilife Programme in Stockport and realising the health benefits (mental and physical) of activity and exercise and discovering a love for Zumba! I took up the post of Board Secretary and Head of Governance at NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group in April 2015 where I am responsible for leading and advising on the corporate governance arrangements of the CCG including Board and Committee Governance, compliance, risk and information governance. Prior to that I was the Assistant Head of Democratic Services at the London Borough of Richmond where I was responsible for managing the governance and scrutiny teams. I provided support for the Council's Cabinet and Scrutiny processes and am experienced in providing support for partnership governance arrangements including the Health and Wellbeing Board and joint Health Scrutiny arrangements. Prior to this I spent 7 years in both a Democratic Services Officer and Senior Democratic Services Officer role at Blackpool Council within both the Executive and Regulatory and Scrutiny Teams.I am a committed manager and leader who has a keen interest in learning and development techniques and resources. I work hard alongside my staff to develop them holistically with their roles. I am passionate about providing high quality comprehensive governance support and embedding quality governance principles across an organisation.
