• Responsible for analyzing samples from patients with B-cell malignancies enrolled in CD19 CAR T Phase I trials in order to investigate correlation between patient response and patient phenotype, resulting in an arm employing a newly selected T-cell population for treatment (NCT02146924, NCT02146924, and NCT02051257)• Contributed to pre-clinical data for cytomegalovirus specific CAR T against HIV which was awarded $3.8 million by CIRM (CLIN-1-11223, 2018) – developed protocols to isolate CMV specific T-cells using the Miltenyi Prodigy platform, executed preliminary in vivo studies, and conducted immunoassays evaluating cytotoxicity, proliferation, and phenotype • Investigated expression of proteins restricted to malignant, clonal plasma cells from patient tissues to potentially validate a novel CAR T based therapy for light chain amyloidosis • Produced all lentiviruses used to generate CAR T-cells in our team • Assisted post-doc in generating, characterizing, and testing the safety and efficacy of humanized CD19 CAR T-cells, with the aim of introducing into the clinic• Responsible for training PhD rotation students in directing their respective research projects
