I am currently the Project Coordinator at the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering Varick Street Incubator. My job duties include maintaining the physical environment, handling all finances, planning and promoting events. I am also the HR Analyst which involves on boarding all new employees, and interns in to our human resource system as well as the community. I assist in any human resource queries about payroll, and manage the SPIKE program, which is the fellowship program for students that would like to work for one of our start-ups. I became involved in the field of higher education management as the result of an opportunity at University of North Carolina Department of Immunology and Microbiology where I was a Lab Manager. After that I moved back to New York and became the Communications Coordinator for the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering Graduate Admissions Office. My job functions as the Communications Coordinator included assisting students with their admissions process to attend the graduate program at NYU Poly. I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) at CW Post/ Long Island University. There I studied Arts Management, which has contributed to my current job by providing me with opportunities to learn management skills in a creative atmosphere. My training, although in a different field, has been critical to my success here at the Incubator. I believe that my current position will lead me further into the higher education management field. I feel that I am flourishing by helping companies and students to grow and succeed in their work.
