Industry engagement through business support and knowledge transfer activity in the area of Advanced Engineering. Part of the SRC Business Support & Innovation team; promoting and supporting Industry, Innovation and Incubation. Supporting SME's by delivering funded projects such as InnovateUs, Innovation vouchers and Fusion/Co-Innovate projects.

Duties included: 3D CAD design, manufacturing drawings, nesting of parts of plasma cutting, developing and implementing part numbering system, 2D CAD layouts, design of jigs and creation of product documentation.

Sentinus is a not for profit educational charity which works with schools and colleges throughout Northern Ireland to deliver programmes which promote engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). August 2014 - May 2015 I worked full time for Sentinus delivery a range of STEM workshops in primary and secondary schools. - I am a qualified Technology & Design teacher with City & Guilds 6131 Workshop Competency. I am registered on NISTR and worked in various schools as a substitute teacher.- Worked for STEMaware and Sentinus - delivering STEM workshops and helping prepare for and run events like "Scifest" and "The Big Bang"

Working in the innovations department I had the responsibility of shaped can designs and surface modelling of more complex parts. I simultaneously managed a number of projects from each of the business areas. Each project involved creating a project brief, brainstorming ideas, selecting ideas to develop, narrowing ideas down to a few concepts and developing these, testing, CAD design, creating photo realistic renderings and producing physical prototypes; either machined in the workshop from an engineering drawing or a rapid prototype model produced directly from the CAD file.

Working in the innovations department I managed a number of projects from each of the business areas (beverage, aerosols, speciality packs, food & closures). Each project involved creating a project brief, brainstorming ideas, developing concepts, testing, CAD design, creating both photo realistic renderings and physical prototypes.

I completed a summer placement here from 21st July 2008 – 19th September 2008. Here I received training on software packages Catia v5 and 3dvia. I worked with professional engineers on various projects. I continued to work part time for this company following my summer placement to assist with an ongoing project.
