About Laura M.

As the Director of Alliance Learning & Insights at America's Promise Alliance, I work to set the strategy for capture, codification, management and amplification of learning across programming. I have 15 years' experience in learning and development work and have spent my entire career working to design, facilitate and capture the best learning experiences possible.I lead the full life cycle of learning and development, including: assessing, designing, building, leading, project managing, facilitating, capturing/sharing and evaluating learning at every level. From year-long, standards based curriculum and daily lesson planning for kindergartners at the start of my career to developing and leading complex learning and development solutions for Teach For America’s remote staff of 1,500 people, I’ve done it all.I am particularly energized by work that centers and honors the expertise of the individual within a collective, through structures like Communities of Practice & Peer Learning Communities. I believe in the power of coalition building and am a passionate advocate for safe streets for people traveling outside cars.
