I work with adults who have cognitive and physical disabilities. I try to focus on their abilities and give them work that is meaningful for them. In turn, this work is rewarding and meaningful to me. Working for BVRS grants me the opportunity to use my leadership skills as a former Mayor, educator, coordinator, director and self-employed artist.

Directing and organizing an adult day program.Coordinating an annual art show for adults with special needs.Organizing a monthly calendar filled with enriching activities.Overseeing staff members to help them achieve their daily responsibilities.Communicating and exchanging information with staff members, care givers and parents on a frequent basis.Promoting and encouraging a creative environment for all.

Therapeutic Staff Support - I worked with children who had special needs in the home, in the community, and in schools. My main responsibilities were to work with a treatment team and parents to develop a plan that was customized to the goals of each child.
