A rotational graduate scheme, working in a number of placements across a large HR and Payroll software business to develop business acumen and a diverse skill set in a variety of disciplines. My first seven months were spent working in the User Experience and Research team, usability testing designs and creating innovative new modules for people first, a ground-breaking HR system. This placement accelerated my knowledge around agile product development and led to a keen interest in… Show more A rotational graduate scheme, working in a number of placements across a large HR and Payroll software business to develop business acumen and a diverse skill set in a variety of disciplines. My first seven months were spent working in the User Experience and Research team, usability testing designs and creating innovative new modules for people first, a ground-breaking HR system. This placement accelerated my knowledge around agile product development and led to a keen interest in technology for the future of work. A different challenge arose in the following five months, as a Payroll Project Manager. This involved implementing payroll managed services in iTrent for small businesses and taught me a huge amount about customer service and time management with many projects to manage simultaneously. Following this, my next eight months also involved project management but in a completely different context; researching, designing, building and launching a knowledge base for a large internal department. This placement developed my change management skills and experience of managing a large, long-term project with many stakeholders. Finally, my final four months were spent in Product Marketing for MHR Analytics, specialising in market segmentation and strategy. A 12 month market research internship within the Disney Media + team; responsible for media sales, partnerships and promotions across the Disney brands. My role supported this large team with regular and adhoc reporting on the television market and the wider entertainment market as a whole. This was my first insight into the importance of research for business success and taught me best practice around market insights and competitor intelligence for a world leading brand.
