In my role supporting a Department of Transportation (DOT) software team, I led product initiatives by emphasizing an end-user perspective, driving problem-solving outcomes, and promoting proactive planning.

As part of a software development team supporting the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), I was responsible for the product planning and execution including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements; defining the product vision; and working closely with engineering, design, research and clients to ensure value was delivered to customers and goals were met.

Requiring high-level skills in areas of analysis, strategic planning, research, and communication, my responsibilities aimed at expanding the effectiveness of regulatory oversight; identifying ways to streamline processes; improve customer experiences, and increase the value of agency activities for all stakeholders.

In direct support of the Executive Director, I managed the activities of the state agency responsible for the oversight of all private higher education institutions in Georgia. Our team authorized approximately 335 institutions annually, evaluating institutional policies, programs, personnel, facilities, etc. Additionally, a critical component of regular work included investigations of complaints from students and the general public regarding noncomplaint operations. In this role, quality improvement projects completed included the introduction of an online payment portal; streamlining of the procurement process; negotiation of 5-year contract renewal for online database platform; development of an organization restructure; revision of fee and fine schedules and passage of state legislation.

This role focused on the application of regulations in the private, higher education sector. In conjunction with institutional evaluation, I was also tasked with managing multiple agency change projects and serving as Product Owner for the central agency software tool, Edvera. Projects included the content management of a new agency website and the introduction of an integrated online database platform, customized to house both general agency records as well as to process institutional applications.
