Currently supply teaching within Secondary and FE settings. Depending on the length of the cover I may be responsible for following a pre-designed SoL, assessment and feedback, creation and implementation of lesson plans, presentations and learning resources. Within all cover positions behaviour management and communication are key to forging new relationships with a wide variety of learners in a short space of time.

I currently teach GCSE English (9-1) resits to learners aged 16+ on Childcare and Public Services Courses. I have also taught E2 and E3 Functional Skills English within this role. My duties include: the creation and implementation of schemes of learning, lesson plans and resources; teaching delivery, assessment and feedback; internal QA and standardisation; maintenance and updating of student data on a number of online databases. I also create and maintain the VLE (Google classroom), adding resources that stretch and challenge learners as well as provide targeted support as highlighted by the tracking of assessments/written work/lesson engagement.

I taught GCSE English Language and Literature (9-1) to year 10s and sixth form students in groups of 1-30. I was the only English teacher at the opening of the technical/engineering college and so was responsible for the creation and implementation of a SoL for the 2 year completion of English Language and Literature GCSEs. Duties included: individualised lesson plans, differentiated resources and activities, teaching delivery and 1:1 support, assessment and feedback, tracking and working with other tutors to apply the English studies to engineering/the professions learners were striving to enter. I also worked to a predesigned SoL to deliver FS English to one sixth form learner. This was delivered on a 1:1 basis and we also spent time developing his reading and writing skills - often looking at the engineering materials and report writing that was required of his chosen career. I also liaised with external agencies, local schools and local businesses to further support students and foster relationships within the community.

As part of my PGCE placement I taught on the Access to Higher Education course to adult learners aged 19+. I delivered modules covering: WW1 Poetry, Gothic literature, Cultural Studies and Dramatic Texts. I worked to predesigned SoLs in order to produce lesson plans, resources and assessments. I also created my own SoL for a Cultural Studies module in accordance with the CERTA curriculum objectives. My general responsibilities included: the delivery of fully differentiated lessons to groups ranging from 3 to 26 learners, learner support in the form of tutorials and workshops for academic writing, pastoral care, tracking of learner progress and informal assessments. Reason for leaving: completion of PGCE, hence the placement ended.

Duties included: processing verbal, email and faxed orders onto an internal database; communicating via telephone and email with global customers; responding to customer queries and liaising with external freight forwarders and the Chamber of Commerce to organise and validate worldwide shipments. Job prioritisation and working effectively as part of a team were essential in order to reach company KPIs and provide an efficient service to customers.
