Laura's passion for sign language and the deaf community started about 25 years ago doing community volunteer work. She started her career as an interpreter in 2000 in post-secondary education, community, medical, business, and a variety of other settings, Laura has been involved with the Deaf-blind community learning Pro-Tactile Signing and leading techniques for those who are dual-sensory challenged. Ms. Young has been working in VRS and VRI since 2008, and has enjoyed the unique experience of facilitating communication with varying "accents” from across the nation. Her other interests include volunteering in the Deaf and Deaf-blind community, as well as traveling, learning languages, and outdoors activities.
