Being a Philadelphia Futures student I gain access, tools, and awareness about school and college. There are different clubs and organizations within the program that help me such as sponsor a scholar, college connection, ellis girls trust, and white William scholar. The non profit organization helps first generation kids like me achieve academic success and learn how to have commendable character.

Temple Fox School Of Business

A college exposure and awareness program for upcoming juniors. Throughout program there is networking with one and other, and guess speakers within different professions are being brought about. We get to see what it’s like in their field, and talk to them about it. New skills are being developed (Ex: leadership, communication, team building). There is also different assessments that help build character and bring new thoughts for students (Ex: Journals, Guess speaker papers, career research paper, industry analysis).

Creating my vision was a Thursday/Saturday class at Philadelphia futures for sophomores. Being apart of the class I learn so much about myself I didn’t know. The class itself taught everyone about the differences between colleges, personal statements, fit paragraphs, and the application process. We also did mock interviews for colleges, and from that I learned how to be a good interviewer.

I worked within different groups participating on hands on activities (Ex: Designing logos and shirts) involving different types of entrepreneurship.June-August 2019Worked in a career exposure program at Temple University Fox School of Business with Philadelphia Futures that allows upcoming juniors to network with each other, and gain new contacts from adults within different careers/industries. Throughout the program skills such as team building, leadership, and public speaking are being built up.

As a Philadelphia Futures Student I was apart of drop-in writing. The program helps students with writing related homework or assignments. Being apart of it my writing has overall improved, and I learned that I am passionate about creative writing.
