I have spent the last few months planning a new strategy for my career and professional growth. This included among other activities:- Stride Career Compass: a structured 1:1 coaching process which supported in developing my personal career compass (from Stride learning association)- Intensive German class: I attended for more than 2 months an intensive 5-days a week German class at Benedict school which allowed me to which supported me in obtaining a Goethe C1 certificate (with a score of 87/100)

This initiative supports an interactive network, primarily driven by state and regional policy makers in Eastern Africa and South Asia to exchange on successful policies, innovative approach and evidence to sustainablytransform food and agricultural systems.

In 2013 I joined the Environmenta Geoscience Group of Prof. Christine Alewell at the University of Basel (CH) where I started a research project on "Improving soil erosion assessment in mountain areas"The project was funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF).Supervisors: Prof. Dr. C. Alewell (Uni Basel) and Dr. L. Mabit (IAEA).Main tasks:- Collecting and analyzing the soil losses data from different study sites- Developing new mathematical models to derive soil erosion rates- Communicating the outputs at international conferences and trough peer-reviewed journals.- Supervising Bachelor and Master studentsAnalytical techniques include: GeLi detectors and ICP-MS to measure 137Cs and 239+240Pu activity in soil samples collected at alpine grasslands.

In June 2012 I have been invited to contribute to the launch of UniMont,a new project, promoted by the University of Milan and the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. One of the project objectives is the establishment of a Scientifc Network for Education and Research in mountain areas.As project assistant I have been involved in several meetings aimed to organize and manage the promotion of the project, through events and the development of a website, that will be able to collect and present informations about: - courses, workshops, stage opportunities;- research projects, publications, jobs and call for proposal;- institutions and researchers involved in the development of mountain areas.The website is hosted at www.unimontagna.it

I contributed to the ProAlpe project, a multidisciplinary project which involved several Universitiesin Northern Italy, funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research and the Italian Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Main research lines of the project were:- the analysis of the production chain of the "typical Alpine cheese" and traceability models;- the chemical and microbiological characterization of milk and dairy products;- the characterization of Alpine grasslands. I contribute to the project as Research Assistant. I spent several weeks on a high altitude Alpine pasture in Piedmont (in Valle Stura, CN), collecting vegetation samples, to analyze their volatile patterns. I was involved in experiment decisions and I could learn more about ecology and data sampling. Moreover I gained technical skills and enjoyed the surrounding environment.
