I work alongside a brilliant team, and due to the nature of emergency veterinary care there is always something different and interesting happening on each shift. My responsibilities include:Ensuring the clinic is clean and tidyWalking the dogs regularlyCleaning out kennels and cagesRestraining animals for blood samples, catheterisation and other proceduresCarrying out all reception tasks such as handling money and welcoming customersPreparing equipment for proceduresTaking initiative during emergency situationsWhilst at work I also have the opportunity to learn more in depth about the diseases presented, which I find fascinating.

Whilst studying for my undergraduate degree, I took on dogs for regular dog walking and sitting services. All of my clients trusted me to care for their pets in their house while they were on holiday or at work. A few clients had other animals such as budgerigars, cats and axolotls to care for as well! I built up a strong bond with both the animals and their owners, and am still in contact with them now.
