Served as the senior strategic leader for the titling, registration, license plate, customer products, large commercial motor vehicle, and call center functions for the State. Supervised 180 indirect reports, led project teams, set legislative priorities, built relationships with industry stakeholders, and solved customer problems.

Served as the primary liaison between the South Carolina DMV and the State’s General Assembly. Built relationships with Senators, Representatives, and legislative staff to propose innovative legislative changes that positively impacted end customer experience. Saw the State’s bill for REAL ID compliance from drafting to passage to ratification. Supervised the strategic communication and constituent services function for the agency.

I researched public policy and drafted proposals for the State Superintendent of Education. I coordinated several school recognition programs and coordinated all State Board of Education meetings.

I wrote press releases, managed website content, responded to constituent concerns, designed publications, photographed events, and edited/proofread promotional materials.

I oversaw the operation and expansion special programs, including Adaptive Tennis, Wheelchair Tennis, Tennis Ambassadors, and NJTL. I also worked to recruit, place, and train volunteers both in local areas and at the state level. I organized and executed the annual conference with 300+ attendees.

I wrote and distributed press releases, made media kits, created an internship program for journalism/professional writing undergraduates, did graphic design work on fliers and mailings, and staffed events.
