Laura’s mission is to create conversations that transcend differences and spark change. As a facilitator and meeting designer, Laura combines principles of participatory management with the power of technology to create virtual spaces that connect people and promote dialogue. * Identify, investigate and implement emerging opportunities in the collaboration, meetings and wellness space* Support team members in discovering and actualizing their own new opportunity areas* Design and facilitate virtual, hybrid and in-person workshops, with a focus on connection, participation and collaboration* Facilitate complex conversations between multiple participants and panelists* Use digital tools such as Stormz and Howspace to enhance engagement and promote collaboration in virtual workshops* Virtual event producer, managing myriad details and technical support team during virtual meetings, including maximizing attendee participation, and ensuring the speaker and participant experience is seamless and stress-free* Project planning and management for large, complex events

Changing the story of dementia--from one of deficits, loss, and disability to one of gain, ability, empowerment, value and purpose--will refocus our answers to the impact of dementia on our world and provide a framework for our actions. Changing the story means listening to people with dementia tell their stories, and it also means promoting the activities already being taken by people around the world to change the story of dementia. Mindset Centre is changing the story of dementia through:- Partnering with To Whom I May Concern® to uncover the stories of the lived experience of dementia through readers theatre projects and videos.- My Dementia Story, a Facebook page dedicated to the stories of people with dementia.- Connecting with and promoting community programs that create a space for people with dementia and their care partners to experience empowerment, purpose, acceptance, being in control, and having an impact.I published a book of short stories for people in mid-to-later stages of dementia to enjoy reading alone or with a care partner. In My World: Short Stories of Familiar People and Places is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle.

As a writer, editor and graphic designer with many years of experience, Laura has worked with small businesses, corporations, universities and nonprofits to develop websites, communication models, user manuals, policy and procedure guidelines, white papers, marketing materials, and course curriculum. Laura has edited numerous nonfiction and fiction manuscripts and has helped many authors bring their books to print and their dreams to reality.
