I am a Presidential Scholar at Mississippi State University double majoring in industrial engineering and business administration. I am a member of the EcoCAR project management sub-team, which is providing me with experience and helping me develop skills.I have been running a pet & house-sitting business for six years and teaching beginner piano students for two years. I am a Chick-fil-A team member and lifeguard at the Briarwood Pool in Jackson, Mississippi. I have learned accountability, planning, and problem-solving while working for others. I have learned to anticipate others' needs while running my businesses. While pet & house-sitting, I enjoy elevating my customer's experience by baking bread, embroidering dish towels, and writing notes as thank-you gifts for allowing me to serve them and their pets. When sitting with a client's pet, I text a daily proof of life picture of me with their pet. After a couple of years, my pet & house-sitting business grew to the point that I increased my fees so that my client base would decrease slightly. The rate increase allowed me to maintain my profits and maximize my time serving others.While serving smiles at Chick-fil-A, I have honed my communication skills. I particularly enjoy interacting with customers in the drive-thru, especially those with young children and pets!Being a lifeguard is a heavy responsibility that I take very seriously. As a lifeguard, I am not only trusted to ensure the safety of everyone at the pool, but I also get the privilege of watching parents spend quality time with their children.
