As Marketing & Communications Manager at Pointer, I am responsible for the planning, development, editing, review and publishing of user-focused internal and external communications. This includes marketing materials, site content, and the planning and creation of social media content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I am also responsible for creating, researching, and writing website blog content and articles to connect with audiences and educate on ecommerce trends and best-practices.

The Cannabinoid Medical Clinic (CMC) is the largest and first ever referral only cannabinoid medical clinic in Canada. The company is focused on patient care and research within the federal government's Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR) program.My role here included writing the corporate marketing strategy for 2016, focusing on all new locations for the year as well as ensuring optimal flow at existing clinics. I managed everything from clinic operations in Ottawa, marketing strategy, website re-design, social media, and events. I organized Continuing Medical Education (CME) events in Ottawa, St. John's, Halifax, Calgary, and Edmonton which were all extremely well attended by the medical community in each city.

The Studio started as a passion for supporting local business and promoting small business owners wherever I was. I turned this passion into a storefront in Carleton Place, stocking the shelves only with products sourced within the Ottawa area. From housewares and decor, to jewelry, candles, art and paper goods, every item came with its own story and the concept was extremely well received. I also organized the first ever handmade show in Carleton Place, Finders Keepers, with over 40 local vendors showcasing their products.

In this contract role, I was responsible for the Zip.ca movie kiosk team. My responsibilities included leveraging market research to determine ideal locations for new DVD kiosks, coordinating installs with clients, writing and implementing process guides for mail and kiosk programs, collaborating with the Marketing team on social media initiatives in accordance with the Marketing Strategy, and developing performance metrics to measure the success of various Marketing campaigns.

As the main point of contact for Marketing Analytics, I combined the use of CRM analytical tools and reports from our business intelligence team to develop reports that quickly summarized our current business results and also forecasted where there would be gaps. This required me to build stories for our Senior Executive team to explain discrepancies in the numbers quickly and clearly. My role also included analyzing marketing scorecard results to identify trends and opportunities and report insights, providing analytical support and advice for business forecasting and target setting, management of corporate customer satisfaction program (using Net Promoter Score methodology), and developing forecasting methodology using pipeline data to forecast corporate results, and statistical analysis of corporate and customer satisfaction results using SPSS.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing, I was responsible for managing the $8M marketing budget, planning and coordinating team events, tracking and reporting of group objectives and measures, attendance reporting for team, managing corporate promotional program, planning and coordination of activities associated with the VP office and Marketing leadership team, and providing direct support to the VP of Marketing with both internal and external clients.
