As Head of PR and Communications for Showmax, I lead our public relations and content marketing efforts across Africa, working with a fantastic team to bring our brand vision to life.Our campaigns have received notable recognition, including Online Strategy of the Year at the New Generation Awards, multiple Bookmark and Promax Awards, and two Gold PRISA Prism Awards – for Best Arts and Entertainment PR Campaign and for the Showmax relaunch campaign in 2024.

I established the content marketing function within the Connected Video business unit, where I led the Showmax and DStv streaming content marketing teams across Africa.Taking a data-driven approach, we ensured every content marketing effort aligned with key business objectives and was measurable. One of our standout projects was the launch of Showmax Stories (stories.showmax.com) in 2016. Designed as the official guide to Showmax, Showmax Stories continues to perform strongly, drawing significant organic traffic and engaging a growing audience. Recent traffic data for Showmax Stories shows the site attracting hundreds of thousands of readers monthly.My team also worked closely with top news outlets across Africa, combining earned and paid media to amplify our impact and maintain Showmax’s visibility across the continent.

I served as Senior Editor for the Vodacom account at New Media Publishing, where I led a range of content-marketing initiatives. I launched Vodacom now!, a consumer-focused technology and lifestyle site that became Vodacom’s official blog in 2014 and continues to thrive today.My team and I managed diverse projects, including print publications, newsletters, videos, and Vodacom’s employee magazine. We also produced internal communications for Vodafone Global Enterprise Africa and Vodacom Business Africa, ensuring consistent, high-quality messaging across all platforms.

From 2010 - 2011 I was employed as the print editor of a number of publications for the MultiChoice group. Thereafter, I moved to the role of digital editor across all MultiChoice products published by New Media Publishing. Some of the products I worked on included the monthly DStv subscriber magazines: Dish Premium, Dish Compact, Dish Africa Commercial, Dish Commercial and Dish Listings as well as the M-Net subscriber magazine, Magic.
