Managed the day-to-day operations of the HIX, $400,000 budget and staff. • Researched and interpreted government law, policies, and processes needed to comply with the HIX requirements. Used this knowledge to strategically align the hospital's goal of acquiring new covered lives and the laws from the HIX. With this the hospital personally helped 1,600 families from the community with the HIX, enrolling 331 of those families through the HIX and 428 in Medicaid. Overall, 11,000 new exclusive covered lives were gained through the exchange. • Efficiently and effectively validate and interpret data for Care Continuums for particular procedures-such as total knee replacement - to improve the quality of the care being delivered at the health system by determining the true costs of the full spectrum of care and creating baselines to make it easier to track quality and cost improvements.
