After a delightful career in Creative Radio Production & Writing - spanning documentaries, commercials and audiobooks over 14 wonderful years - I've switched things up with an exciting career change to use my creativity in a different way.I'm now Project Director | Head of Marketing at Move Management, where we're focussed on helping businesses seamlessly relocate, sell and recycle their unwanted assets and reduce their carbon footprint in the process. Our aim; to move businesses towards a greener future.Here's the backstory...Birmingham City University - I dived into the world of creative audio while studying Media & Communication, specialising in Radio Production. I wrote stories about the places I travelled, people I met and the cultures I explored, then brought them to life through the power of audio - I discovered a passion for making audio documentaries.BBC, Tokyo, Japan - After university, I interned at Global Media working as a Production Assistant for XFM, before setting off to Tokyo, where I lived for 2 years. There, I researched and wrote up an idea for a documentary based on Japan’s Shrinking Population, which was successfully commissioned by BBC Radio 4. I wrote and produced the doc with Like It Is Media, resulting in numerous replays on R4 and the doc winning ‘Pick of The Week’ after its initial broadcast. Alongside this, I also worked with Bart Corporation, a Tokyo based language company, where I wrote and produced content for English language study materials. I also studied Japanese, and taught English to Japanese mature students. Global Media, Nottingham - From radio documentaries on BBC Radio 4 and 1Xtra, I then moved into copywriting for radio advertising. Based at Global Radio again, I worked as a Creative Account Manager at Capital East Midlands for a couple of years.India - Later on, I then travelled to India to soak up the culture and continue writing stories as part of a 6-month self-planned, solo adventure, writing & presenting features for BBC Radio 4’s ‘From Our Own Correspondent’, as well as freelance-writing content for India-based companies along the way.Global Media, Manchester - On returning from India, Global welcomed me back, where I worked for over 5 years as a dedicated Creative for the National Team, writing powerful content and radio copy for brands including Jet 2, Mastercard, Oreo, Channel 4, Tesco, Ann Summers, and many others. As well as inspiring brands on the power of audio.Since then, I joined Move Management as Project Director and Head of Marketing.
